I'll Wait 03:58
Can you hear me when I speak your name Or are we destined for a bed of flames Tomorrow comes whether you're alive or not Tomorrow brings another light inside my heart I'll wait for the pendulum to swing I'll wait for the hourglass to break Brother heed these words and know they're true Because you seek in me just what I done found in you Tomorrow comes whether you're in pain or not Tomorrow brings another light inside my heart Cruising on this life yet I want more I'm gonna ride this wave until it takes me back to shore Tomorrow comes whether you're insane or not Tomorrow brings another light inside my heart I'll wait I'll wait

When my soul dies I hope I come back as you But I know now the truth When my soul drowns I hope you shed a tear for me But I know now it's true Every time I pass you by I see that look upon your face Every time I stand to cry I know that I have been replaced We found something better in this life You found drugs and you nearly paid the price Now you've found a love to save your life Who you were don't matter You're bigger than that You're better than that When My heart stops I hope you hold a wake for me Send me into the sleep When My heart breaks I hope you find some peace again Somewhere into the deep Every time you pass me by I see the sad upon your face Every time you pass me by I know that he will be replaced

The world is watching a rounded side One big family no divide We'll go hungry when we are full No religion a higher truth One day maybe I'll be saved by you Open arms now we're fighting through All the borders we're breaking down Will crumble slowly I'll leave this town A million miles away Soon to feel your embrace Will my heartbeat move your headboard Will your heartbeat move my headboard Again Walking free now through the everglade A change in fortune a psychic prays Novacane we're on our way Pastures greener let them in

Mad dogs will roam in your territory My wolf fell asleep at the door Circling roaming your memory Claiming the cause is the cure The times we drifted far away No I don't recall a moment of the spring The tide was written on the wind And I don't regret a moment not a thing Rest now don't follow break down in sorrow For the grateful dead The light lays inside us the future's behind us We're the grateful dead I'm ungrateful Stray cats will roam on your tapestry Leaving their scent on the wall Pacing and roaming your apathy Casting a curse on us all Rest now don't follow break down in sorrow For the grateful dead The light lays inside us the future's behind us We're the grateful dead God is my witness you were my hero The grateful dead Shackled together boundless forever We're the grateful dead I'm ungrateful I'm Ungrateful But I'm alive

Funky Dress 04:08
I'd never seen the light of day until I saw your eyes I'd never seen a conscience fade until I saw your smile You never steal you never lie You seem to cure the sick with your mind I want you to know I love you when you're walking in the fields You seem to flow with a freedom and the sky parts at your heels Every day is a daydream and you're wearing that funky dress You know I'm gonna look out for you when your head is in a mess Time moves so fast now these days people stay the same You make me laugh every day you fix my moods away And you know I'll look out for you but it's all gotta end some day In a mess In a mess

Waking up early for no good reason Softly in slumber shoulda stayed in bed Tell me a story of lovers in season Speaking your tales spinning your wisdom Only the brave they will survive Leaving your footprints out in the snow Lending your wishes into the night Slowly we wonder Chasing a dream may not teach you a lesson Gathering wisdom my kind of heaven Tell me a story of rhyming and reason Making up moonshine waiting for sunlight

The Big Red 03:27
I'd keep the hell away from me I spread my love like a bad disease I've got nothing to give I've got nothing to give Easily bored easily pleased I'm like a schizophrenic creep Like some nutter gone berserk I don't know whether to freak or go mental I know what I'd like to do I hear you calling Got to keep this madness together I hear you breathing What does it mean? It's murder I wear the scars of tambourines I'm always talking myself to sleep I have nothing to say I've got nothing to say Coz I am kind then again I'm weak and that's the last thing what you need I could smother you with love just like the very same it's making me ill Defacto I know someone who will Give me headaches instead of this Give me headaches coz it's murder

River 06:02
I stand with open heart My eyes fixed on the ocean I grease the palm of the boatman with two silver coins When there's nothing left And the choice already chosen I sacrifice the fire that burns in your soul A generation lead by one which they resent Forced to shout messiah at one whom they so despise I'm not the only one of feels this discontent Memories aren't made from gold so quit while you're ahead River Won't wash away your sins I've fallen overboard My skin wet from the water I've never felt so sure about the one I love And As I look above And the voice already spoken I see the sky before me as the heavens part River Won't wash away your sins River Can break you down and build you up again

Another bar closes a trap door falls Look who's this on the underground Swallow your pride and don't you feel so proud This is me you're talking to I don't mind I don't care Life has design Let me decide Another crash landing the horizon falls And I feel safe right here with you Gather your thoughts and don't you make a sound I'll be waiting here for you Every time you come around here You'll always run into a friend I see you looking sad but it don't make no sense I guess we will always be friends Another door opens I've seen the light And I'm OK with being through Banish your fear and keep your hope awake I'll hold these memories of you Every time you come around here You'll always run into a friend I see you looking sad but it don't make no sense It seems we'll never reach the end We built this stage on stilts of broken bones And we'll be brothers till the end I see you looking sad but it don't make no sense I guess we will always be friends.

Free 04:10
Take me for a drive to the ocean side Take me where the shore meets the sea Where the air is pure and we are FREE Take me into town where the young souls roam Take me where the bars line the streets Where the beer is cheap and we are FREE Oh come on and face the facts A dysfunctional misspent youth We've fallen down the cracks Oh come on now don't look sad We're draining our resources They ain't ever coming back Have a good time Take me for a hike on the mountainside Take me where the hills meet the breeze Where the air is pure and we are FREE Take me into town where the old souls roam Take me where the sounds light the streets Where the beer is cheap and we are FREE Take me to the place where the gods reside Take me where the strong help the weak Where the soul is pure and we are free

about

Freedom in Isolation was recorded during the 2020 lockdown amidst the outbreak of Coronavirus.

This period of Isolation served as the perfect opportunity to get creative and record some of my songs.

Having never recorded anything myself before, I downloaded a free trial of logic pro x and got to work. Learning to record on the fly and leaning on my previous experience of recording The Simpletone albums. Most of the writing was done during the recording process.

I also had a lot of help from my good friend John Davison. John contributed by mixing and producing the album from his garage studio. He also contributes musically throughout the entire album.
